CP10X Vibro-Meter piezoelectric pressure sensor 143-107-000-211-CP10X
Built-in mineral-insulated high-temperature cable, suitable for high-temperature installation locations of gas turbines, can monitor combustion stability, surge precursors, and combustion oscillation faults online for a long time. It cannot be directly connected to a voltage input module and must be equipped with a Vibro-Meter charge conditioning module (MPS module / VM600-MPS) at the back end. The cable should be kept away from power cables and high-voltage cables throughout to avoid electromagnetic interference.

Core
Functions
Measures dynamic pressure pulsation, combustion oscillation, and gas turbine combustion chamber pressure fluctuations. It only measures alternating pressure, not static pressure.
The piezoelectric crystal outputs a charge signal and must be used with a charge amplifier/Vibro-Meter signal conditioning module.
Suppresses acceleration interference, reducing measurement errors caused by equipment vibration.
Built-in mineral-insulated high-temperature cable, suitable for high-temperature installation locations in gas turbines, enabling long-term online monitoring of combustion stability, surge precursors, and combustion oscillation faults.

Typical Application Scenarios
Combustion pulsation monitoring in the combustion chamber of heavy-duty gas turbines and aero-derivative gas turbines;
Combustion oscillation, thermoacoustic oscillation, and surge warning in gas turbines;
Online condition monitoring of gas turbine units in power plants and oil platforms;
Also used for dynamic pressure testing in engine bench tests.
Supporting Systems
Backend: Vibro-Meter MPS, VM600 system, external charge amplifier;
Note: Piezoelectric sensors cannot be connected to ordinary voltage input; charge conditioning is mandatory. Cables cannot be arbitrarily lengthened or replaced.
Common Fault Diagnosis
Signal drift, baseline offset: mostly due to cable insulation damage or high-temperature aging;
No charge output: crystal damage, cable core breakage;
High noise: grounding loop, damaged cable shield, charge amplifier failure.
Installation
Method
1. Mechanical Installation
Installation Thread: M12×1.0, external thread directly screwed into the pressure measuring seat (connection nozzle) of the gas turbine combustion chamber. No flange, metal-face seal (metal hard sealing gasket). Do not use PTFE tape or ordinary sealant, as these will fail under high-temperature conditions and residue will clog the pressure measuring hole.

The pressure-sensitive diaphragm is located at the front end of the sensor and must be fully inserted into the pressure measuring hole. Pressure should act perpendicularly on the diaphragm; lateral force or shear force is prohibited, otherwise the piezoelectric crystal will be damaged, and the signal will drift and distort.
Only rotate the hexagonal fastening part to tighten; do not tighten the sensor by tightening the sensor cable root or cable body, as this will cause the internal crystal to detach and the MI mineral insulated cable to break.
Recommended
Tightening Torque
12-15 N·m (torque wrench)
Insufficient torque: Leakage under high temperature and pressure, sensor loosening, and deterioration of frequency response;
Excessive torque: Stripped threads, damage to the internal piezoelectric crystal, and direct sensor failure.
2. Mounting Base/Pressure Testing Hole Machining Requirements (Gas Turbine Body Connecting Nozzle)
The mounting base end face must be flat, free of burrs and scratches, and perpendicular to the thread axis (≤1°);
The pressure testing hole must be unobstructed, with no blind holes or cavities allowed; cavities will cause acoustic resonance, altering the frequency response and completely distorting the combustion oscillation measurement;
Buffer holes and damping holes are prohibited; the CP107 is a high-frequency dynamic pressure sensor, and damping will filter out high-frequency combustion oscillation signals.
The pressure testing base material is suitable for the high temperature of the gas turbine, generally heat-resistant alloy steel.
Key point: The diaphragm at the front end of the sensor must not be recessed into the dead cavity; it should be flush with the combustion chamber wall as much as possible, and not excessively recessed.
3. Installation Location Selection (Gas Turbine Combustion Chamber)
The measuring points should be arranged according to the gas turbine drawings, on the pressure measuring interface on the outer wall of the combustion chamber flame tube;
Avoid direct impact from the high-temperature flame to prevent diaphragm ablation;
Keep away from areas of strong vibration and impact. Although the sensor has built-in acceleration compensation, excessive lateral vibration can still introduce interference;
Reserved space: Allow for easy disassembly and assembly. Sufficient bending allowance should be provided for the cable exit; the cable should not be subjected to tensile force.
4. Handling of Integrated MI Mineral Insulated High-Temperature Cable (Important)
This equipment uses an integrated, non-detachable cable. The cable cannot be cut, arbitrarily lengthened, or have intermediate joints.
Minimum cable bending radius: ≥ 8 times the cable outer diameter; sharp bends are prohibited.
High-temperature sections of the cable must be properly secured and supported; the sensor body must not bear the cable's weight. The cable's own weight will cause lateral stress on the sensor.
The cold end of the MI cable (away from the gas turbine body) should be led to the junction box, then connected to a standard low-noise charge cable to the VM600/MPS signal conditioning module.
Cable shielding: Single-end grounding, grounding only on the cabinet side; the sensor end shield should be floating to prevent ground loop noise.
5. Electrical Installation
This is a charge output piezoelectric sensor and cannot be directly connected to a voltage input module. A Vibro-Meter charge conditioning module (MPS module / VM600-MPS) must be used at the rear.
The cable must be kept away from power cables and high-voltage cables throughout its length to avoid electromagnetic interference.
Intrinsically safe explosion-proof ATEX Ex ib; installation and wiring must meet explosion-proof area specifications, and cable sealing joints must be properly sealed for explosion protection.

6. Installation and Commissioning Prohibitions
❌Do not use sealant or PTFE tape; only high-temperature resistant metal gaskets are permitted.
❌Do not tighten the cable to secure the sensor.
❌Do not create dead spaces/buffer cavities.
❌Do not cut or connect the cable in the middle.
❌Do not strike or drop the sensor; the piezoelectric crystal is easily damaged by impact.
❌Do not use for static pressure measurement.
7. Post-Installation Inspection
Air tightness check: Perform an air tightness test on the sensor body to confirm no leaks at the interfaces.
System insulation test: MI cable insulation resistance > 1GΩ (megohmmeter low voltage range; high voltage megohmmeter is prohibited as it will damage the piezoelectric crystal).
Baseline observation after power-on: The baseline should not drift significantly or exhibit continuous high noise; confirm that the charge module sensitivity setting matches the CP107 (232pC/bar).
