The PGC5000A Generation 2 Master Controller provides all of the analyzer system control functions and coordinates internal and external data activities for the PGC5000B, PGC5000C, PGC5007 and PGC5009 Smart Ovens™.  Analyzer and the control systems communicate via intrinsically safe (IS) Fiber Optic with Redundant Ethernet, Modbus or Modbus RTU.

  Series Affiliation: As the core control unit of the ABB PGC5000 series, the second-generation main controller is designed specifically for industrial gas chromatography distributed intelligent systems. It supports high-speed communication and collaborative control with intelligent column ovens such as PGC5000B/C/5007/5009 via intrinsically safe fiber optic cables. A single controller can connect to up to 4 column ovens (such as PGC5000B) or 2 complex column ovens (such as PGC5009 Fast PGC).

  Hardware Upgrades: Utilizes an industrial-grade embedded processor and a 10.4-inch SVGA touchscreen (1280×1024 resolution), supporting multi-touch and a "click + drag-and-drop" interface for improved user interaction efficiency; a built-in USB port for configuration backup and data export.

  Interactive Interface: The 10-inch SVGA touchscreen supports multi-touch and employs a graphically driven HMI design, allowing for method development, editing, and storage via "click + drag-and-drop" without programming. Key functions are presented intuitively in tabbed format.

  Communication Capabilities: Redundant Ethernet ports ensure reliable data transmission, supporting Modbus RTU, direct MODBUS communication, and USB port system updates; compatible with OPC, 4-20mA analog output, and VistaNET 2.0 protocol.

  Storage Expansion: A removable SSD card supports local storage of up to 7 days of chromatograms and reports, meeting industrial-grade data management needs.

  Precision Control Capabilities: The electronic pressure controller (EPC) supports multi-pressure zone control (e.g., 16-stage programmed temperature ramping in the PGC5009), with temperature control accuracy of ±0.1℃ to ±0.2℃, and is compatible with rapid analysis standards such as ASTM D3710 (gasoline<4 minutes) and D2887 (diesel <5 minutes).

  I/O Configuration: 8 isolated 4-20mA outputs, 4 digital outputs, dedicated purge alarm/fault alarm, and 2 configurable outputs, supporting complex process linkage and remote monitoring.
